Jack 2010

You may have been wondering what's new with Jack?  Well lots of things.....

Jack can sit up by himself and play with his toys - and boy does this kid have a lot of toys. We totally understimated how many people out there love Jack enough to send him Christmas presents. We are so blessed, but also now shopping for a toy box.

He is minutes away from crawling.  Technically he is already crawling in that he can get from here to there with these preciously awkward little scoots.  Rocking from his arms to his legs up on his little toes.  We know it won't be long before he takes off.  We should probably start child proofing.

Jack is babbling like crazy.  He is stumbling into all kinds of sounds that are actually words.  We've heard a "Hi" and a "Mmma," neither with any indication that Jack knew what he was talking about.  Mostly it's long rambling babbles that sound like the sweetest music to Bryce and I.

Speaking of music, Jack had his first day of school today.  Music school!  Jack and my dad are taking music class at TCU on Wednesday afternoons.  I love that they are doing this together.  And I truly hope that this is the beginning of a long relationship between Jack and music.

Jack loves baths! He splishes and splashes in his little tub. By the end of the bath, there is hardly any water left in it.

He is eating a variety of fruits, vegetables, cereal, oatmeal.  It's amazing how much he cooperates at meal time compared to those early days where we could only get food in his mouth by making him laugh and then jamming the spoon in quickly before he shut it again.  We've got a simple little food grinder that we use as often as we can.  But I mostly eat carbs and candy, so there is not always something appropriate to grind up for him.  Jack also still enjoys eating faces and most things he comes across on the floor.

Jack has discovered our Marmalade.  She is our sweet kitty who is not quite sure what to make of Jack, but she really appreciates him letting her sleep in his cradle now that he has grown out of it.
