It's Christmastime and There's No Snow

We've been watching Caillou's Holiday movie at least once a week since December....last December.  We recorded it last Christmas and it has been one of Jack's favorite movies all year long.  It is fun that it is finally Christmas and the movie is actually becoming relevant again. 

We sang "Bent and Tiny Christmas Tree" while we picked out the tree for our house.  It is not bent or tiny, but it we decided that it is the perfect tree for our house this Christmas. 

In the movie, there is a play where Caillou has the line "It's Christmastime and there's no snow."  His character is sad, and then at the end of the play it snows and everyone cheers. ~ Back to real life, not Cailou's, Jack's. ~ As soon as Thanksgiving was over we started talking about the fact that it was Christmastime, and all of the traditions we celebrate at Christmas.  Jack very quickly starting to ask about snow.  Every morning when he would wake up, he would ask me if it had snowed.   He'd look out the window above his bed to discover another warm and sunny day.  I tried to explain to him that it just doesn't snow in Texas that often, so we don't usually have snow for Christmas.  But this explanation didn't stop him from looking for the snow each morning.  Well, last night we finally had our first blast of winter weather and along with it came a light dusting of snow.  Jack was so excited to see the snow.  He said, "See, Mommy, I told you it would snow in Arlington, Texas"  in the most matter of fact way, like he'd known it would snow for Christmas it was just a matter of waiting for it.
